trnr. project

Just completed my collectors brief project last week and stupidly forgot to photograph any of th efinished articles. So it may be a couple of months till i get any pics posted up on here. I enjoyed th ebrief though perhaps lacked motivation midway through as i tend to have a relatively short attention span and could think of so much other design wanted to be working on.

At the beginning of the brief Christian my course tutor told me to stop thinking about marks and to do what i wanted to do. regrettably i didn't listen formm the outset, became bored and down beat with what i was working on, but fortunately was able to swing bakc round as i incorporated more the type of work i wanted to be produceing with the project i had chosen.

StLuke'sCares

As part of the rejuvenation process installed by st lukes cares, a youth club has recently been set up for youngers between aged 12 to 19. the URBAN BAR project is based lower Beeston and is based in the porta cabin pictured. I found out about the porject through moodle and discopvered they were in need of some graffiti painted on the cabin.
I arranged to meet a reprasentative of St Luke's Cares to discuss the job in hand.

Before the meeting my understanding was the requirement for a piece displaying the name and some opening times so i sketched up a few ideas to take along.

On arrival and further discussion i discovered the job was a great deal larger than i first understood it to be.

Painting the whole cabin, front, back, sides, TOP TO BOTTOM. I couldn't begin to imagin quoting paint costs on such a job with no real idea of layers, colours, or complexity.

I spoke further with the reprasentative and suggested other possibilities in getting the cabin fully painted , labour cost free. One suggestion that seemed possible was organising a jam, free labour, good expsure for a launch event. Visually speaking the aesthetics would be likely to fit the whole project alot better than a crisp piece of graphic design painted by one person. The idea after all is to bring people tpgether.

In the mean time i have agreed to paint a basic piece for the short term and am currently awaiting colour requests from the kids.
